Lilly of Shady Nook Farm delivers colt sired by Mintse

On 6/9/09 Lilly of Shady Nook delivered a colt sired by Mintse at 11:15 pm.   The birth was uneventful and quick.  The colt is long-legged, refined and elegant.  He has a nice long neck that ties in to the shoulder are wither well.  He is already a very good mover and I anticipate a lot of animation.  He has been named Douke-Zuiderwaard of Shady Nook.  This colt is from the van der Zuiderwaard mare line of mare line 2.  The van der Zuiderwaard line has been producing many gifted saddleseat and driving horses that are excelling in the show ring both here and in The Netherlands.  I feel this colt is already a champion...we just have to wait until he grows up and prooves it!  You can watch the actual birth of this colt by going to Lilly's page under our horses and clicking on the youtube link.  You can also continue to watch this colt grow by going to the livecam at http://marestare.com/cam.php?alias=shadyone   Lilly and Doeke will have free access to the paddock and the stall until weaning time.
