Tessa van de Zuiderwaard retires from show career

After three wonderful and exciting years in the Saddle Seat show ring our girl Tessa is enjoying life in retirement on the farm. Tessa, Tamme x Oege, along with her talented trainer and rider, Ashley Walker, have had an amazing career. In 32 classes entered Tessa was the winner 26 times. Ashley and Tessa had a special relationship and horse and rider became one unit, a beautiful thing to see. Tessa was IFSHA Saddle Seat HOY in 2005 and USEF Saddle Seat Reserve Champion in 2006 and 2007. She was also Saddle Seat Champion in the FHANA World Show in 2007 where the announcers paid special tribute to Ashley and Tessa for an outstanding show career. A deep heartfelt thanks to Ashley for a job well done. Our appreciation also goes to Femmy Fien and the late Jan Fien for breeding such wonderful horse. Since coming home Tessa has been happily babysitting a weanling and will be having a foal of her own in 2009.
